but it is the old slightly convex one and so we've left it as found and we've left that decision to its next owner

I'd date it c. 1780 1830 based on style of needlework and the pattern. Fine embroidery work in wool and silk, it's a salvaged panel from a chair back upholstery, and is excellent to live again as a lushly fringed trimmed out decorator throw pillow.
