This spider was bred in captivity for years before it was described though while usually just being referred too as Malaysian blue femur

Sahydroaraneus raja 3/4” nature t shirt These spiders are wild caughtsize 3 4 Described as a Plesiophrictus species in 1915 by British arachnologist Frederic Henry Gravely. It wouldnt be until almost 100 years later until genus Sahydroaraneus would be established where this spider currently resides as the type species. Reaching 2 3 inches as adults, this uncommon species is known from the Chimmini Wildlife Sancturay area in Thrissur district, Western Ghats of India.
