Each plate in the battery is wrapped in a fibrous glass matting which not only absorbs all liquid electrolyte but keeps the plates separated in a cushioned environment

This creates a problem with the charging system being constantly overloaded whilst trying to recharge the standard poor-quality starting battery which is designed for a car

This stops the plates from vibrating which can break down the plate and cause short circuits between the plates or break plate welds which results in battery failure

The battery can be safely left on the charger indefinitely
